I've been on a mystery kick for a while now. I've read through every one of C.J. Sansom Matthew Shardlake mysteries, set in Tudor England. I love historical fiction and especially of this general Middle Ages period. This series did not disappoint one bit. I am waiting for the next one to come out with baited breath.
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks was an engrossing read and worth all the hype it's getting.
Another worthy non-fiction read that was consumed was The Devil's Rooming House: The True Story of America's Deadliest Female Serial Killer. You'll never look at Arsenic and Old Lace again in quite the same way!
Rounding out the already digested selections are mysteries by David Liss, all good but I have to say his stand alone Whiskey Rebels was my favorite.
So, what's on the Kindle pile now.
Dark Star Safari, the only travel book by Paul Theroux I haven't read, sadly not available as a Kindle edition.
And finally, the beginning of the Joliffe mysteries by Margaret Frazer.

You just couldn't help it, could you??? A little Stella picture says volumes! My nightstand is piled high with my wanna reads....I just can't get to them, it seems. At the top of the heap is Gabaldon's "An Echo In The Bone."
I'm currently reading the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. I tend to lean more towards classics in the summer when I have time to savor a book. I also have a couple of war novels in my line up: The Naked and the Dead and The Young Lions.
Just finished Blue Shoe by Anne Lamott, and now I'm reading Armadillo by William Boyd. I also have read about a third of Dark Star Safari, another of my nightstand denizens.
I'm reading an old Agatha Christie (The Unexepected Guest) and The Well-Dressed Ape. There might be a few weaving books and magazines in the stack too!

PS: Yesterday I woke up thinking I'd jinxed my table loom purchase by writing about it online before sealing the deal....but then I ended up bringing a few new-to-me things into the fold. Pics on my blog of course!
I have Animal, Vegetable, Miracle ready to read. Actually, I'm trying to work on a post of our latest book purchases, but I'm not getting very far with it. I love historical novels and mysteries too, so I'll have to take a look at Samsom. I love a good recommendation. :)
