June Colors-Cascade-Siskiyou Mountains

Finally something other than mud (or Stella)! This is a very picture heavy post all taken over the last couple days around the property. We've had some pretty wild looking moths around. The horse is Boo, the goat Dolly and no snow in the long range view! There is still snow on Mt. Ashland but Gene tells me they are officially calling the start of fire season on July 1st.

Is that a dogwood tree in bloom??? And, what is that beautiful purple wildflower? Great pictures!

LA, yes, that is a big old wild dogwood in bloom. It's in a shady spot and has provided us with a wonderful pop of white for the last 3 weeks. It's on it's way out now. The purple flower is all over here and is simply called vetch. I would guess it's a member of the sweet pea family. We have a low one, that is quite a pale violet and the taller, more purple and hot pink variety shown. Some kind of wild iris, wild dandelions, a strawberry flower and tons of new growth on all the fir/pine trees

Those are beautiful moths! I love moth #2 especially!

Plus all the sweet faces of your menagerie!!!

Thanks for sharing your sunny colors of June! Isn't it great seeing so much green!

I totally thought Stella would somehow sneak into this post!

PS: I might be buying a table loom in the next couple days. Fingers crossed! Maybe my weaving mojo is returning!

You live in a beautiful place. It was hard driving home because I know I'd be quite happy up there. Once I got home, I was fine with it. Just the concept of moving is enough to make me love home :)

That is a beautiful dogwood - but those moths creep me out! I'd be screaming and getting out the broom! T.
